Had a great time here. Everyone was friendly and helpful. It was great to just walk out the door of the hotel and be on the beach. Be sure and leave a rock in their rock garden.
Excellent beach, fun pools. My family has been coming here every year since before I was born (32 years). Probably the highlight of my summers. Comfy condos, close to a lot of great hiking areas, and of course the lake is right outside your windows. Just remember to bring fans! Can get kinda warm in the summers.
My family has a timeshare here and has been a family tradition for well over 20 years. Always an enjoyable stay. We have the same two units each year, but other family has rented others, so I've seen inside many different units. All are nice and cozy with full kitchens. No in suite laundry, but there is a coin-op laundry on site. The private beach is nice, and has a launch point for boats. There is park further up the beach. There are two pools, one is more for the kids, but each has a sauna and hot tub. There are tennis courts. We always love playing the mini golf each year. The main outdoor grass areas are enourmous, so you can set up volleyball, croquet, etc with plenty of room for everyone. There is a convenience store that has most anything you might forget, as well as treats, ice cream, etc. There are bikes and such you can rent. We have always enjoyed Ideal Beach and hope to for years to come!
The condos we stayed in were a bit dated and could use more lighting, but overall they worked out pretty well for our vacation. There were a number of advertised amenities, like craft activities and midnight mini-golf, that weren't available. This was frustrating because we were planning on various kid-friendly activities being available but had to come up with other plans. The beach itself has plenty of space but the sand is kind of rocky. There is a huge, well-kept field that can be used for whatever you want. There are two outdoor swimming pools - one with a two-foot deep kid area and one with a diving board. Both pool areas have a slide and a hot tub. There's a playground that still has a merry-go-round, which was pretty awesome.
I've loved Ideal Beach Resort for well over a decade, and I know I'm going to love it for years to come! They've done a remodel within the last five years, it is very nice and modern! The rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable, and there's room for lots of people!
